retire with money

One thing Financial Advisors get a chance to do is meet and work with wealthy people.  There are certain behavioral characteristics that wealthy people have in common. Here are 5 of them:

  1. Save and Invest Before You Spend – The old adage ‘pay yourself first’ must be heeded.  The wealthy learn early in life to ‘live within their means.’ They demonstrate discipline by not spending on luxuries if it compromises their ability to save and invest. A contributor to becoming wealthy is to enjoy saving as much as spending and being happy with what you have.
  • Take Action – It is no secret that you will not become wealthy without action.  Know exactly what you want and figure out how to get it.  Believe in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals.
  • Focus Your Time on Building Wealth – Focus on activities that build your wealth.  There are many people that spend their time unfocused.  Know that spending your time wisely, combined with your gifts and your talents, will bring you more wealth.  The more time you spend doing things that create wealth the richer you may become.
  • Work Hard and Creating Wealth – Know that if you make the sacrifices to be successful in your chosen vocation, you increase your odds of becoming wealthier, happier and healthier.  Set goals and accomplish a goal each day. Use your imagination, intelligence, creativity, education, and every other tool you have to be successful in your chosen vocation.
  • Protect your Money so It’s There When You Need It– It takes time and sacrifice to achieve wealth.  You don’t want to have to earn it again.  Make sure to do your due diligence before you invest. Know that there is always another ‘deal’ and be cautious.

Yes, Good Luck can play into accumulating wealth, but discipline and hard work matter too.  Mix in a little bit of Good Luck and you’ve got it made.
