Position Overview:

The Paraplanner serves as a crucial support role for Advisors, specializing in constructing and maintaining financial plans while providing technical assistance. This position requires a strong foundation in financial planning, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals currently pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification, those who have passed the exam and seek experience to fulfill the certification requirements, or current CFP® certificants looking to expand their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Responsibilities:

  • Draft comprehensive financial plans and conduct asset allocation analysis for client onboarding and portfolio reviews.
  • Develop tailored analyses of financial decisions and prepare materials for client meetings.
  • Conduct research on client investments and address routine inquiries and service requests.

Team Responsibilities:

  • Assist in training Client Services Specialists on team processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Actively contribute to team collaboration and foster integration into the firm’s culture.

Firm Responsibilities:

  • Understand and uphold the firm’s vision, mission, and strategy.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Support Advisors in creating presentations and materials for business development meetings.
  • Attend business development meetings with Advisors and manage follow-up tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Series 65 Licensure required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CFP® Education Program, or current CFP® certificant.

Performance Measures:

  • Mastery of technical skills and financial planning software.
  • Completion of education and attainment of CFP® designation (or progression toward it).

Skills Developed:

  • Proficiency in CRM and Financial Planning Software, particularly MoneyGuide Pro
  • Deep understanding of financial planning principles and processes.

Skills Being Developed:

  • Advanced knowledge of financial planning areas, including investments, budgeting, taxes, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Enhanced client communication skills.
  • Mastery of the financial planning process.

Promotion Considerations:

  • Accuracy and efficiency in creating financial plans.
  • Strong grasp of firm philosophy, investment theory, and financial planning theory.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Progress toward or attainment of CFP® certification.

Compensation:

  • Base compensation range for 2024: $50,000 – $75,000.
  • Compensation adjusted annually based on individual performance, professional credentials, firm needs, and market conditions.
